Convo is an AI-powered voice interviewing platform that enables user researchers and market researchers to scale qualitative research by interviewing hundreds or thousands of people simultaneously, including techniques like mobile ethnography.
- Challenge
- One of the big challenges when building in AI is that something that seems very novel today could be very archaic and old tomorrow. Additionally, people don't actually care that you're building AI—what they care about are the outcomes. It's also hard to know when to bring additional help on as a bootstrapped founder, because there's no playbook for when you need to hire more people.
- Lesson
- AI is most powerful when it amplifies human decision-making and not replace human decision-making. Building a startup is a marathon, not a sprint, and resilience is such an important part of building your own startup because there will be deals that fall through that are of no fault of your own, and you have to be able to handle the emotional ups and downs without getting too high or too low.
